Our global society is faced with unprecedented environmental challenges that threaten our existence - our very way of life. Problems such as climate change, land degradation and our own perception of the environment if not urgently addressed can severely limit global and national opportunities for socio-economic growth and development. No longer can we see environmental challenges as the responsibility of a few – we must change our thinking and accept the unchanging truth that our environment is vital for every aspect of human development, irrespective of our social status, religious orientation or race.
It is time for us to lay a new foundation for development. One that prioritizes renewing of our mind, that recognizes the interdependencies between human development and environmental integrity, one that emphasizes risk reduction and management, productivity of our natural assets, human accountability and responsibility, empowerment and innovation.
THE TIME IS NOW. The Green economy is the only real alternative to development. At RECS (Roberts Environmental Consulting Solutions) we are ready and willing to work with all stakeholder groups including government, private sector, and civil society to ensure that environmental issues are effectively integrated into decision making processes. We have a choice – we can choose quick fixes or sustainable solutions, prosperity or poverty, degradation or environmental and human wellbeing.
