Blue Horizons

Known for its lush tropical setting, world-class fine dining, and some of the most affordable nightly rates on the island of Grenada, Blue Horizons Garden Resort offers a charming vacation experience for travelers seeking a mix of serenity, nature and Caribbean ambiance.

The property features 32 spacious, cottage-style rooms in two categories – superior studio and deluxe one-bedroom suite. Accommodations are outfitted with contemporary styled furnishings, air conditioning, ceiling fan, color television, telephone, CD player/clock radio, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, in-room safe and fully equipped kitchenette with refrigerator, stove, coffee maker and ample counter space.

The Resort’s color scheme of ivories, tans, and shades of green complemented by six acres of lush vegetation, colorful flowers and gently chirping birds creates a tranquil atmosphere that lets guests return to the softer side of nature in a delightful Caribbean paradise.

Blue Horizons has long been associated with its gourmet restaurant La Belle Creole, a popular dining spot for guests staying at any hotel on the island. Affording picturesque views of Grand Anse Beach and St. George’s Harbour, La Belle Creole serves continental cuisine with a West Indian flair.

Appealing to nature enthusiasts, Blue Horizons has an aviary for tropical birds with 21 different species inhabiting the grounds. Birds that can be found on property include the Barn Swallow, the Violet Eared Dove, the Tropical Mockingbird, the Broad-Winged Hawk and the Lesser Antillean Bullfinch.

Beyond this, Blue Horizons and Grenada are an excellent combination for travelers interested in ecotourism. Mix Blue’s tremendous value and Grenada’s lush interior, hiking trails of varying degree, waterfalls, the Grand Etang National Park and much more, and you have the ingredients for a unique Grenadian adventure.

Blue Horizons is currently a Green Globe Benchmarked property, meaning the resort is on path towards securing the coveted Green Globe Certification.
Further reflective of its environmental consciousness, Blue Horizons has launched several new ‘green’ initiatives that make a positive impact on the earth, the resort and its guests, including purification of the main swimming pool by the chemical-free Auto Pilot system, which uses salt as opposed to chlorine; creating a process whereby the resort’s laundry system is operated by 100 percent rain water, saving up to 500 gallons of water a day; and distributing reusable shopping bags for guests to use on the island and when shopping back home.

Now through Dec. 15, 2009 rates start at US $155.00 per room, per night, based on double occupancy in a superior studio or US $ 165.00 per room, per night based on double occupancy in a deluxe suite.
